Photos and story by Mark Evertz
Portland Community College’s Senior Studies Institute will hold a series of classes at the Capital Center on N.W. 185th and Walker Road in Aloha. Classes begin for PCC on Monday, Jan. 5.
On Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Institute has scheduled Issues of Concern to Senior Citizens; Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to noon, Current Events; and on Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to noon, Roundtable Discussions.
The Senior Studies Institute is a unique program for older adults who want to expand their horizons and connect with others. SSI provides an opportunity for seniors to engage in group discussions, exchange ideas and expand their knowledge. SSI is special because it is run by its members who plan and conduct the Institute’s programs and classes.
Members pay a $30 annual fee. Anyone may attend up to two times on a trial basis without charge. For more information, contact Neal Naigus at 977-4122.
