PORTLAND – Portland Community College’s Institute for Management and Professional Development is bringing best-selling author Bob Nelson to speak at its employee development series called Lessons in Leadership. Nelson will present, "The Rewards of Recognition: How to Generate Energy Your Organization Needs," from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11 at the Portland Marriott Downtown.
He is the author of the books "1001 Ways to Reward Employees," "1001 Ways to Energize Employees," and "1001 Ways to Take Initiative at Work," and has been on the Business Week’s best seller list for nearly 50 months. He’s has been called a "publishing phenomenon," thanks in large part to his first book which ranked in the top-10 of soft cover business books for three consecutive years.
Nelson will offer innovative and practical ideas on ways to recognize employees’ efforts and how to effectively reward them. He’ll show how to bring out the best in workers and how to energize an organization. Participants will also understand how to recognize team member contributions, spot people who take initiative and are committed to an organization’s goals and profits, and how to keep employees energized. Nelson will show innovative ways to communicate, how to be a powerful motivator within an organization, and how to implement low-cost methods to energize the working environment.
This is the first time that Bob Nelson has presented a public program in Portland. To reserve space at the PCC-sponsored Lessons in Leadership conference, call 1-800-873-3451, or register online at www.lessonsinleadership.com.
