Brush Away Blahs, Put Color Back into Life

Photos and story by

PORTLAND Brush away those summer time blahs and put some color back into your life. Portland Community College will offer the non-credit class Painting Landscapes in Oil to help students paint like the masters. The class, taught by Uma Kim, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday from June 21 to July 26 at Morrison Park (located at 803 SW Morrison). It will also meet at other parks around the city during the summer term.

Students will get a stroke by stroke education on how to mix oils, paint natural scenes, and learn techniques once reserved for the elite painters. The cost of the class is $54. For more information or a list of supplies needed for the class, contact Ann VanOrman, Community Education manager at the Rock Creek Campus, at 503-614-7308.
