Get a Little Spiritual Through the Written Word

Photos and story by

PORTLAND ‘ The act of writing can be a spiritual endeavor and Portland Community College can help you gain that meditative feeling through the use of words in the non-credit class Writing as a Spiritual Practice. Instructor Dale Rhodes will lead this calming and reflective course from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday between Aug. 2 and Aug. 30 at the Friendly House, located at 26th and N.W. Thurman.

Rhodes will help students share meditations and reflections, teach them how to support one another’s ventures, share personal myths and stories, discuss readings on writing and the spiritual life, and begin the process of creating a spiritual autobiography. The cost to join is $40.
