Get Caught Up in the World Wide Web at PCC

PORTLAND/LAKE OSWEGO – Every day you hear about this thing called the Internet. So you are still not hooked up to the World Wide Web? Portland Community College has classes that can give you the skills you need to join the Internet revolution. The non-credit class Internet for Total Beginners will give students a step-by-step approach on how to use the Internet, find information and use e-mail. The course will be offered every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., starting Monday, Sept. 25 and ending Oct. 16. The class will be held in the library at Wilson High School, located at 1151 S.W. Vermont St. The cost of this class is $74.Internet for Total Beginners, also a non-credit course, is being offered in room SS 4 at Lake Oswego High School (2501 S.W. Country Club Road) from 7 to 9 p.m., from Thursday, Sept. 28 through Thursday, Oct. 19. The same class will also be offered on Thursdays, Oct. 4 to 18 at the same time and location. The cost for either one of these classes is $45.In conjunction with these courses, there will be a secondary offering – the non-credit Create a Basic Web Page to be held at Wilson High School’s library. The class will run from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be offered Wednesday, Oct. 4 through Oct. 25, and again from Wednesday, Nov. 1 through Nov. 22. It will also be available at Lake Oswego High School from 7 to 9 p.m., with classes being conducted in room 16, beginning Thursday, Oct. 26 and running through Nov. 16.
