The partnership is part of a trend in higher education to build better relationships between two- and four-year schools. PCC President Dan Moriarty applauds the new arrangement. "We struck a deal with Oregon State University in the spring and with OIT now on board, it all is part of giving students at both institutions greater flexibility and more options. These arrangements benefit not only our current students but also high school students who will see a clearer path to higher education."
OIT President Martha Anne Dow said the partnership with PCC, "will increase OIT’s visibility and presence in the Portland area. Our bachelor’s degree programs lead to professional and financial success for our graduates, and we want to share these opportunities with as many Oregonians as we can."
The Oregon Institute of Technology is based in Klamath Falls with satellite
campuses in Southeast Portland and in Beaverton. All of the academic programs at OIT will be included in the new agreement. Currently, many PCC engineering students transfer to OIT for the last two years of the bachelor’s of science degree.
