?Central Soul' Musical Set to Open at PCC-Sylvania

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College Multicultural Center and Filipino American National Historical Society of Oregon are presenting two shows of the musical play Central Soul at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 3 in the performing arts center on the Sylvania Campus, located at 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. After a three-year hiatus, musical playwright Timoteo Cordova (Heart of the Son, Across Oceans of Dreams, Barkada SinDrome) will debut his new show at PCC.Central Soul is a tale of two people from two different worlds. Val is a struggling poet from the inner city and Lorena is a student who grew up in the suburbs. Even with their contrasting backgrounds they have found in each other their soul’s other half. Despite the pressures from friends and family and their own self-doubts, they are determined to make their relationship work. This story explores the deepest depths of love and the tribulations, which confront all couples.
