Photos and story by James Hill
ROCK CREEK CAMPUS – School-aged children from around Washington County will get a sneak peek at this year’s lambs at Portland Community College’s Rock Creek Campus farm, located at 17705 N.W. Springville Road. Kids from the Creative Children Center will visit at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20. There will also be students from Oak Hills Elementary School in Beaverton attending at 10 a.m., and a Girl Scout Brownie Troop at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21. The TLC Day School plans to visit at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28. Terry Lookabill, coordinator of the Rock Creek Campus farm and greenhouse, will guide the students through the barn, discussing points of interest with the students. He plans to talk about raising sheep and other livestock and the differences between the hoof of a sheep and a horse, for example. The student will participate in activities such as petting the animals and romping through the hay fort adjacent to the barn.
