Media Advisory: No Classes at PCC on Friday, April 13 Due to Inservice

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College will not have classes between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, April 13 due to a faculty Subject Area Curriculum Committee inservice day. It will be a chance for full- and part-time faculty to meet and work on curriculum issues such as reviewing distance education proposals, analyzing discipline and program reviews, develop new courses and programs, review instructor qualifications and many other items.PCC is the largest institution of higher learning in the state, serving more than 940,000 residents in a five-county, 1,500-square-mile area in northwest Oregon. The college, which enrolls almost 100,000 students annually, has three comprehensive campuses, which provide lower-division college transfer courses, two-year associate degree programs, professional and technical career training. PCC offers classes at training centers and approximately 200 other locations throughout the district.
