PCC to Host Community Service Fair

SYLVANIA CAMPUS – PCC’s Sylvania Campus will host the 17th annual Community Service Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Amo De Bernardis College Center upper mall. The Sylvania Campus is located at 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. The fair is open to the public. At PCC, students are able to volunteer and earn college credit in a variety of programs through cooperative education or service learning experiences. Cooperative education awards credit for experience related to one’s career goal. Service learning courses offer an option of volunteering in the community as part of one’s coursework. Approximately 36 different non-profit agencies will be on hand to share information for both volunteer and paid positions. The fair will bring representatives from youth services, shelters, refugee services, Hispanic non-profit organizations, environmental agencies, and women’s services.The Oregon Chapter of the American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Aid Society of Oregon, Bradley-Angle House, the Cascade AIDS Project, Hands on Portland, OMSI and Habitat for Humanity are just a few of the participating organizations.
