Mediation Training Topic of PCC Class

PORTLAND, Ore. – A one-day Mediation Training session is being offered winter term by Portland Community College.The session will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Morrison Park, 803 S.W. Morrison St. Tuition is $100. One CEU (continuing education unit) is available.Instructor Tsipora Dimant will lead participants through the practice of mediation, which has emerged as a powerful tool in the alternative dispute resolution movement, which was designed to create alternatives to litigation. Topics include the potential of mediation to not only solve "people"problems, but also improve and transform personal relationships.Dimant has been conducting commercial, workplace and neighborhood mediation for 10 years, and served as director of the Dispute Resolution Program for the Better Business Bureau for five years.
