Explore the Mysteries of Celtic Spirituality

Photos and Story by

HILLSBORO, Ore. – The ancient Celtic religion lures many visitors each year to Stonehenge and other mysterious relics in far-away places. Now Portland Community College offers a local opportunity to uncover this sacred history through the noted expertise of Frank Mills, who has a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. PCC’s non-credit seminar, Introduction to Celtic Spirituality will lead students through the evolution of Celtic religion from primordial, to druidic, to Christian, to neo-Celtic revival movements. Mills is visiting from the East Coast to teach a seminar at Marylhurst University, in addition to the one at PCC. As a published mythologist and theologian, his work has made him an authority on all things Celtic. He is currently working on a Hollywood-produced film series on Celtic myth. "We are fortunate to be able to offer the insight of Dr. Mills through this community education seminar,"says Amy Reardon, PCC Community Education manager. "His lectures will explore not only the history of Celticism, but touch on ways students can incorporate Celtic spirituality into their own personal growth." The two-day seminar will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 24 and 25, in Room S236 of Century High School, 2000 S.W. 234th Ave. Cost is $21.
