Take the Bait: PCC Offers Flyfishing Course

SCAPPOOSE, Ore. – Before you wade into Oregon’s cool streams and rivers with your new flyfishing gear, take the time to practice your cast – as well as a tackle box full of other skills at Portland Community College’s upcoming course in Scappoose. Flyfishing 101, a non-credit course, will give students the scoop on where to go to fish, how to read the water, casting techniques and more. Instructor Mark Williamson will offer special training on making the most of your fishing equipment. The class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 9; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13 and 20. Class will be held in Room C3 of Scappoose High School, 33700 S.E. High School Way.
