Crash Course Helps You Avoid Relationship Pileup

ROCK CREEK – Are you easily swept off your feet? Are you concerned your relationship might include some abusive patterns? Or is your relationship not meeting your expectations? If you answered "yes"to any of these questions, a Portland Community College course this summer can help you make better choices.PCC’s new Crash Course for Relationships teaches specific, actionable techniques to help you move toward healthy, fulfilling partnerships. The three-part, non-credit series will take place from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursdays between June 27 and July 18 at PCC’s Rock Creek Campus, 17705 N.W. Springville Road. Cost is $25 for the series or $10 per class. Instructor Marie Kurtright will lead insightful discussions that include the following:Red Flags and Green Lights (June 27) – how to use courtship at a critical time for observation, recognizing communication styles that indicate problems in the future.State of the Union (July 11) – how to identify subtle to obvious abuse patterns and their effects.Healthy Attachments (July 18) – how to assess safety in relationships and explore our mythical images versus reality of the ideal partner."This course is a must-take for those looking to foster healthy relationships,"says Ann Van Orman, PCC Community Education manager.
