Photos and story by

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – Celebrate Thanksgiving this year by giving yourself to a needy community in rural Mexico! Students from a Portland Community College Community Education class will join with Northwest Medical Teams Nov. 23 through Nov. 30 in the southeastern Mexican state of Oaxaca to build floors for homes and promote quality of life. Participants need no medical experience – just a strong back and a spirit of service. Cost for the non-credit trip is $520 plus airfare to Mexico. More details about the trip will be shared in a free information session presented by Cecelia Barry, PCC Community Education manager, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, at the Lake Oswego Adult Center, 505 G. Ave. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6692.
