PORTLAND, Ore. – Being prepared with the basics of motorcycle maintenance can save you money and keep you safer on the road. Portland Community College will show motorcyclists how through a non-credit, one-day class offered this summer. Riders with less than three years or 3,000 miles of riding experience are encouraged to bring their own motorcycles to campus for Motorcycle Inspection and Maintenance. The class will cover how to properly check tire wear and pressure, wheel condition, chain condition and adjustment, fluid levels and filter replacement; control cable wear and adjust suspension; and even how to clean and wash your motorcycle. Interested riders can then go on to take PCC’s series of motorcycle rider classes in the future. The one-day class will be offered twice this summer: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. Each class will meet in Room 208 of the AM building, Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Cost is $30. For more information, contact Community Education at 503-533-2707.
