PORTLAND, Ore. – The moves that made Michael Jackson a household name can now be yours in Portland Community College’s dance workshop this summer. The Breakdancing/Popping Workshop, taught by Stephen Burtt, is designed to help students master urban street dancing to a distinct beat, while also offering an excellent aerobic workout. Students will learn slides, waves, footwork, windmills, freezes and much more in this one-day class."We’re seeing a surge of new interest in the dances of the eighties,"said Julie Wolleck, Community Education manager. "This workshop offers students the opportunity to learn two separate dances with new flair and style, and it’s very popular. Early registration is recommended." The non-credit workshop will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 29, HT101 at PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Tuition is $15 with an additional $15 payable to the instructor. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6692.
