Muslim Speaker to Lecture on Islam Culture, Rituals

PORTLAND, Ore. – As both a doctor and a Muslim woman, Dr. Shagafta Hasan has a unique perspective on the ancient religion of Islam. She will share her thoughts on Islam’s cultural ties and rituals at a Portland Community College non-credit lecture slated for this fall. Understanding Islam will focus on exploring the motivations of this powerful and wide-spread belief system while offering time for audience discussion. The lecture will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the RiverPlace Athletic Club, 0105 S.W. Montgomery. Cost is $17.
