?Raising Cain', ?Reviving Ophelia' Frame Parenting Discussions

PORTLAND, Ore. – Parents will use two bestsellers as foundations for discussion in an upcoming Portland Community College non-credit course.The three-part Parenting Lecture Series will open with a discussion about the complex relationships between responsibility, respect and building self-esteem. The following two sessions will focus specifically on the content of "Raising Cain"- which focuses on nurturing boys – and "Reviving Ophelia,"which puts the spotlight on raising confident girls.Instructor Joseph Kurtright will lead the parenting series from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 3 through 17, in Room 222 of Wilson High School, 1151 S.W.
