Lost Art of Storytelling Revived at PCC Class in St. Helens

Photos and story by

ST. HELENS, Ore. – Since the wandering bard’s tale in the age of castles, to modern-day folklore around your dinner table, everyone loves a good story. Portland Community College will explain the art of weaving and sharing a good yarn in an upcoming non-credit class. Professional storyteller Michael Ray will share how to develop this lost art in Story Telling. Students will learn how to communicate wisdom from ancient legends to modern truth in an entertaining format. The result is the ability to present both yourself and the message in ways that engage listeners. The class will meet from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 7 through Feb. 11, in Room B49 of St. Helens High School, 2375 Gable Road. Cost is $65.50. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-978-5753.
