Hillsboro bike shop owner teaches maintenance tricks in PCC class

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Can you fix your bike’s broken chain? Jeff Marsh, new owner of Hillsboro’s Trailhead Cycles, will show you how to do that and much more through a non-credit class offered by Portland Community College. Basic Bicycle Maintenance will enable students to fix a flat, true a wheel, and adjust hubs, brakes and shifting as well as make other repairs. Marsh will share his enthusiasm and love of bikes in a supportive, non-intimidating atmosphere. The class will be held two times this term. Students can choose from an eight-week format and a four-week format as follows: The eight-week class will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Monday, March 31 through May 19. Cost is $59 and includes materials.The four-week class will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday, April 2 through April 23. Cost is $35 and includes materials.Both classes will be held in Suite E of Trailhead Cycles, 232 N.E. Lincoln St. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-533-2708.
