HILLSBORO, Ore. – In today’s political climate, Abdulridha Olaiwi’s goal is to create understanding. The Iraqi native will teach a beginning Arabic language course this spring at Portland Community College, exposing students to the intricate sounds of his ancient culture. Olaiwi is an experienced adult teacher who will lead the class in a supportive, interactive environment. The class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, April 3 through June 5, at Century High School, 2000 S.W. 234th Ave. Cost is $75.
