Learn to sew with PCC non-credit class

Photos and story by

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – Sewing is both a practical skill and a creative outlet. Portland Community College will offer a non-credit class to help you pick up the skills and be on your way to repairing clothing, creating art projects, even making your own outfits. Learn to Sew will feature techniques for operating your machine and how to see a project through to completion. Instructor Barbara Thomas will create a fun, relaxed environment in which students can work on their own projects and receive individual attention. Machines will be available in class, or students can opt to bring their own machines from home. The class will be held from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Thursdays, April 3 through April 23, at A Common Thread, 16925 SW 65th. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6622.
