Local chef opens kitchen to host PCC cooking classes

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Amateur cooks can get a lesson from a professional chef in two non-credit classes offered by Portland Community College this spring. Benjamin Gonzales, chef of the Pavilion Restaurant at the Greenwood Inn, will explain how to whip up favorite ethnic dishes in the restaurant’s kitchen, located at 10700 S.W. Allen Blvd. A Little Taste of Mexico will focus on preparing fresh salsas and simple masa dishes. The class will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 1 and April 8. The cost is $21, plus a $15 fee payable to the instructor. Simple Italian Foods will reveal the secrets of making delicious homemade sauces and traditional Italian pasta dishes.
