LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – Take advantage of Oregon’s rugged terrain and rushing rivers: learn to white-water kayak. Portland Community College will offer lessons this spring in a non-credit class. White Water Kayaking will prepare you to make the most of your summer. The class will feature kayak control, paddling strokes, turning, wet exit, safety skills, Eskimo roll, and more skills designed to boost your confidence and get you out on the water. The class will be offered at two different times this spring, beginning with a joint introductory classroom lesson held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15. Students should sign up to take the subsequent pool lessons either from 6 to 7:30 p.m. or from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays, May 18 through June 15.
