Study Spanish in Mexico: PCC offers two-week immersion

Photos and story by

PORTLAND, Ore. – There is no faster way to pick up a language than to live among native speakers. For two weeks this summer, Spanish learners can do just that through a Portland Community College non-credit educational trip. Study Spanish in Mexico is a rare immersion opportunity to deepen your language skills while you experience the culture firsthand. Students will travel to Guanajuato, a charming colonial town north of Mexico City, and live with a Mexican family. Study Spanish each morning and share meals, conversation and culture with your hosts. The trip will take place from June 28 through July 12, or students can arrange their own dates. Cost is $499 plus airfare to Mexico. More details about the trip will be shared in a free information session presented by Cecelia Barry, PCC Community Education manager, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 4, at the Lake Oswego Adult Center, 505 G. Ave. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6622.
