Celebration to honor ESL awareness at PCC

SOUTHEAST CENTER – ESL Awareness Celebration Day will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 25 at the Portland Community College Southeast Center lobby, 2850 S.E. 82nd Ave.Staff, students and the public are invited to enjoy performances by students and professional performers. There will also be ethnic refreshments, displays of cultural items and students’ class works, and information about the ESL program, the Multicultural Academic program and the Volunteer Literacy Tutoring program. The event is free and open to the public.Performances will include flamenco and tango dances by Sonrisa Flamenca, Chinese traditional instruments and opera singing, European folk songs by Polyglots, poetry reading in Russian by students and folkloric dances of the Middle East by Kawakib and Far’ha.
