Couple present ceramic plate exhibit at Rock Creek

Photos and Story by

The Rock Creek Gallery is pleased to host an exhibition of ceramic plates and vessels by Jeff and Donna Tousley. The works by this husband and wife are not collaborative, but in distinctly different styles which complement one another.Jeff Tousley’s stoneware vessels are massive, sprawling forms with subtle, atmospheric color shifts in the glazes; Donna Tousley’s work is smaller with intricately wrought surfaces which have a tight, graphic look of compact, filligreed ornamentation. The couple, who met in graduate school at the New School of Ceramics (Alfred, NY), maintain a studio in Vashon Island, Washington and exhibit widely. The exhibit opens March 31 and runs through May 2. A reception for the artists will be held Tuesday April 1 from 6-8pm.The Rock Creek Gallery is open Mon-Fri 8 am-8pm, and in Saturdays from 10-2pm.
