?Man Who Came to Dinner' comes to PCC

SYLVANIA CAMPUS – The Theater Arts department at Portland Community College is presenting the theatrical comedy, "The Man Who Came To Dinner."The curtain will raise on the spring term production at 7:30 p.m. on May 9-10 and May 15-17 in the Performing Arts Center of the Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. There will be a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on May 11. "The Man Who Came To Dinner"features the character Sheridan Whiteside and his fateful dinner with the Stanleys. After slipping and breaking his hip, he spends a tumultuous six weeks of confinement, causing the Stanley’s to experience numerous zany characters who barge in and out of the lives.Bill Dobson, well-known local theater director and retired admissions coordinator for PCC, directs the play. Set and lighting design is by PCC Theater Coordinator Dan Hays, costumes by resident designer Margaret Louise Chapman and the producer is Sue Parks-Hilden, PCC theater arts instructor. The large student cast includes Portland residents Courtenay Burback as Maggie; Ernie Casciato as Sheridan; Nic Costa as Sandy; Jesse Decker as Dr. Bradley, Michael DeMaio as Banjo, Jon Ems as John, Jason Gilliland as Mr. Stanley, and Lake Oswego’s Erin Charles as Lorraine.The rest of the cast includes Jonathan Hall, Rose Hall, Pauline Johnson, Aime Kelly, Allison May, Robert Nunes, Jessica Parker, Susannah Scott and Rian Turner, all of Portland; Jess Goldtrap of Lincoln City; Tamara Leigh Hawkins of Tualatin; Will Lund of Lake Oswego; Nathan Williams of Beaverton; and Dylan Wright of Milwaukie.The PAC box office will open at 6:30 p.m. on performance nights and 1 p.m. on Friday, May 9. Tickets are also available at the PCC Sylvania Bookstore or reservations can be made by calling 503-977-4949. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors. The show on Thursday, May 15 will be interpreted for the hearing impaired.
