Montavilla neighbors to get Southeast Center update

SOUTHEAST CENTER – Nan Poppe, dean of PCC’s adult and continuing education, will present an update about the new Southeast Center site to the surrounding neighborhood.Poppe will discuss construction progress at the Southeast Center (located at 82nd Avenue and Division Street) at a Montavilla Neighborhood Association meeting on April 14. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Montavilla Community Center, 8219 N.E. Glisan. The new center, designed by Portland firm Yost Grube Hall, will provide residents in outer southeast Portland greater access to higher education. Approximately 1,400 more students will be able to take classes at the larger center. The $18 million, 95,000 square-foot center is targeted to open in winter of 2004.
