Create an herbal garden with PCC class

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Teas, aromatherapy, gifts, flavoring your favorite dishes – growing your own herbal garden gives you freedom to enjoy wonderful herbs without ever having to buy them again.Portland Community College will show you how to design your herbal garden this summer with Herb Garden Design and Culture. The non-credit class covers a selection of edible herbs and flowers, ornamentals, soils, materials and cultural requirements and different garden styles. Professional garden designer Marci Degman will hold classes on-site in an herb garden."From garden to table, these students will experience the joy of growing just the right herbs for their family meals, as well as for many other uses. Marci will offer the techniques you need to get started right away,"says Amy Reardon, PCC Community Education manager. The one-day class will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Forest Grove City Library, 2114 Pacific Ave. Cost is $26.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-533-2708.
