PORTLAND, Ore. – What’s the next wave to hit our economy? One reliable indicator is the land price cycle. An upcoming Portland Community College non-credit class will explore this cycle and how understanding its fluctuations can help you make wise financial decisions.The Next Economy explains, in clear terms, what the land price cycle is and how it affects our economy and environment, as well as how our taxes influence it. Instructor Jeffery Smith offers a visual and interactive class, with plenty of humor used to convey information.“This class gives you the inside track on a key economic principle without being dry,” says Julie Wolleck, PCC Community Education manager. “Jeffery makes a complex subject fun and interesting to learn about with information you can really use.”The class will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays, June 24 through July 15, in Room 112 of the Automotive Building at PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Cost is $39.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6692.####Throw a child’s dream party without breaking the bankPORTLAND, Ore. – When it comes to your six-year-old’s party, it’s tempting to ignore your budget and lose a night’s sleep staging an event she’ll never forget. But throwing a great children’s party doesn’t have to be costly or stressful. Portland Community College can show you how in a fun new non-credit class offered this summer.How to Host Fabulous Children’s Parties will explain how all you need for a great party is a little planning, organization, and a couple of tricks up your sleeve. From pre-school age to junior high, instructor Annika Abel will guide students to create realistic plans with clever and creative themes. A Portland Community College non-credit class offered this summer may have the direction you need.25 Hot Home-Based Businesses to Start for Under $1,000 is a new class led by small business whiz, Steve Veltkamp. In a fun, interactive setting, students will learn start-up requirements, market niches, and business ideas for turning creativity into a steady income.
