THREE ITEMS: PCC ceramics class gives shape to your creativity

PORTLAND, Ore. – Sculpt a bust, form a pot or just let your inner artist direct how you will shape clay – a non-credit ceramics class will give you a hands-on opportunity to explore.Portland Community College will offer Ceramics: All Levels this summer with instructor Cristina Carver. The class will feature ceramic techniques and how to tap your creativity when you work with clay. Emphasis will be on high fire stoneware clay, and welcomes every level with a fun, supportive environment.The class will be offered twice this term: Mondays, June 23 through Aug. 18, or Wednesdays, June 25 through Aug. 20. Both classes will meet from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Room 130 of the Terrell Hall Building at PCC’s Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth Street. Instructor Colleen Cavin will quickly get beginners writing, while offering experienced artists the chance to fine tune their skills.The class will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursdays, June 26 to Aug. 7, in Room 304 of the Student Center Building at PCC’s Cascade Campus, 705 N. Portland Community College will offer this opportunity to drawing enthusiasts in an upcoming non-credit class this summer.Life Drawing with Marko Polo will feature special techniques for interpreting the human form. Polo invites students to work on specific skills while also encouraging independent practice. Students are asked to bring an 18 X 24 drawing tablet and pencils.The class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturdays, June 28 through Aug. 9, in Room 203 of the Terrell Hall Building at PCC’s Cascade Campus, 705 N.
