TWO ITEMS: Enhance your health for life with naturopathic methods

PORTLAND, Ore. – Living a healthy life begins in the garden, and not the medicine cabinet. This summer, you can learn how to incorporate this naturopathic principle and others through a Portland Community College non-credit class.Naturopathic Medicine Series in N.E. Portland will feature simple health and treatment approaches you can put immediately into practice, using natural elements. The class will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, June 24 through July 22, at PCC’s Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center, 5600 N.E. 42nd Ave. Cost for the series is $56; individual lectures cost $16 each. Instructor Karen Benton will present the following topics: Naturopathic Medicine: Living in Vibrant Health! (June 24); How to Make Your Home Healthier (July 1); Healthy Cooking/Healthy Choices – Choosing the Right Foods (July 8); Healthy Cooking/Healthy Choices – Get the Most from Food (July 15); and Staying Healthy – Your Own "Natural"First Aid Kit (July 22).For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-978-5143.###Stretch your body, calm your mind with PCC yoga class PORTLAND, Ore. – Discover how a non-credit yoga class can increase your strength and flexibility while easing mental tension. Portland Community College will offer Yoga: Level I this summer for both beginners and those who are seeking a regular yoga practice.Instructor Sarah Mangion will offer yoga fundamentals that are fun, safe and easy to follow.
