PORTLAND, Ore. – Oui, you can speak French. An online course offered by Portland Community College makes it easy for those with busy schedules.Beginning Conversational French, a non-credit course, is perfect for those with no prior French experience and are interested in learning "the world’s most beautiful language."With little more than the click of the mouse, students will be able to hear and practice French. Downloadable lessons make a quick reference to take on a trip, and study from anywhere in the world. The class features instructor Amy Page, a professional translator and technical writer for French-speaking companies."This revolutionary new course offers far more than any language tape series,"read a recent student evaluation email. "I could ask questions of my instructor and email fellow students any time my schedule allowed. By the last lesson, we were sending messages in French."Held entirely online via the Internet, the class offers the flexibility to open lessons whenever your schedule allows and features discussion boards with other students. New six-week classes will begin monthly throughout the fall on Wednesdays, Sept. 17, Oct. 8, Nov. 5 and Dec.10. Cost is $79.
