Play the guitar blues with PCC class

PORTLAND, Ore. – An upcoming Portland Community College class can get you playing guitar in the style of B.B. King and Eric Clapton.Whether new to the guitar or well practiced, Guitar: Blues Beginning and Intermediate is designed to teach you the nuances of playing one of music’s most expressive, soulful genres. Instructor Mark Lemhouse will focus on the blues songs you love as you learn chords, tuning, rhythm, finger-picking, theory and history.The eight-week, non-credit class will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 22 through Nov. 10, in Room 135 of Grant High School, 2245 N.E. 36th St. Cost is $109.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6832.
