Play about Philippine revolution to open at PCC

SYLVANIA CAMPUS – Portland Community College will showcase an October play centered around The Philippine revolution.Timoteo Cordova’s musical drama, "Heart of the Son,"will premier in Portland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10-11 at the Sylvania Campus Performing Arts Center, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave.The two-hour drama about the 1896 revolution features a cast of Seattle-based actors. The production of "Heart of the Son"first premiered in 1996. Cordova has also penned such plays as "Across Oceans of Dreams"in 1976, "Barkada SINdrome"in 1993, "Bamboo Split"1997, and "Central Soul,"in 2001.Portland is the first stop of the season-long tour.
