PORTLAND, Ore. – The industry standard for graphic design work is Photoshop. If you haven’t fully harnessed the power of this software, take advantage of three Portland Community College classes offered online this winter.Students can choose any one of three levels of Photoshop 7 depending on experience: Photoshop 7 for the Absolute Beginner offers the basics with step-by-step instructions for those who have never ventured into the world of computer graphics; Photoshop 7: Level 1 offers an in-depth look at practical features including layers, blending, masks, and special effects; and Intermediate Photoshop 7 offers the secrets to take your skills to the next level with expert edits and composites. Each class allows students to learn from a noted expert in the industry. Instructor and Photoshop artist Sherry London has been featured in numerous magazines for her design work including Mac World, Electronic Publishing and Design. She also writes the "Tips and Tricks"column for Photoshop User magazine.Held entirely online via the Internet, these classes offer the flexibility to open lessons whenever your schedule allows and feature discussion boards with the instructor and other students. New six-week classes will begin monthly throughout the winter on Jan. 21, Feb. 18, and March 17. Cost is $69.For more information, contact PCC Community Education Online Learning at 503-731-6650 or visit www.ourcoursescometoyou.com.
