BEAVERTON, Ore. – Not only is square dancing Oregon’s state dance; it’s also one of the most fun to learn. Portland Community College will offer a non-credit class in Square Dancing this January.Instructor Norman Yoder will have students "swinging their partners"and "do-sa-doing"right away. In just one month, students will pick up mainstream moves to enable them to dance and have fun in any area square dance club."Everyone knows that square dancers have a great time,"said Janice Dolan, PCC Community Education manager. " This is the perfect way to get involved with a great group while you learn a traditional folk dance."The four-week class will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 3 through Jan. 31, at the Aloha Grange, 3425 S.W. 185th Ave. Cost is $125.
