PORTLAND, Ore. – Get noticed, get promoted, get more friends. According to an upcoming online class offered by Portland Community College, it’s easy: you just need to "get funny."Get Funny! (a non-credit class) will show you how to use humor to speak more effectively, write better, get more hits on your Web site and increase your popularity. Whether you’re naturally funny or want to be, this hilarious course will help you sharpen your wit.The class features instructor Joanna Sandsmark, a professional comedy writer and voice actress. Sandsmark has appeared in numerous commercial, industrial and animated projects including the popular animated television series, "Rugrats."As a writer, she was a staff scripter for TV’s "Weird Science"and has taught both screenplay and voice-over formats."I’m excited to offer this new course because the instructor is a real pro and very funny,"said PCC Community Education manager Marcia Truman. "Students will really laugh while they learn, and come away with some side-splitting skills."Held entirely online via the Internet, the class offers the flexibility to open lessons whenever your schedule allows and features discussion boards with the instructor and other students.
