PORTLAND, Ore. – If you know your finances need careful attention, but are having trouble finding the time to take an extended seminar or to read the latest stock strategy book, Portland Community College might have an answer. A One-Day Investment Workshop for Busy People offered this February gets right to the tactics you need to know to build wealth. The non-credit class is lead by Don Freeman, a local financial consultant and portfolio manager. Freeman will show students how to buy winning stocks, pinpoint entry and exit points, assess risk and manage money. Students will analyze five stocks that produced 100 percent gains in the past six to 12 months, and come away from the workshop knowing how to recognize stock patterns before they rise. The class includes a built-in mechanism for follow-up: students will receive two weeks of Investor’s Business Daily paper for free. "This workshop is perfect for people who don’t have time to commit to a full-term class, and who want to get at the critical investment principles right away,"said Julie Wolleck, PCC Community Education manger. "Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced investor, Don’s techniques will empower you to make strategic, wealth-building choices." The workshop will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 21, in Room 127 of Mt. Tabor Hall at the new PCC Southeast Center, 2305 S.E. 82nd Ave. Cost is $15.
