Mac users: online class puts Appleworks at your fingertips

PORTLAND, Ore. – An Apple application a day keeps disorganization away – or so say the millions of Macintosh users who have discovered the bevy of tools available through Appleworks 6. Now Portland Community College will offer a non-credit, online class to help put this powerful program within your control too.Using Appleworks 6 will offer tips, tricks and shortcuts for mastering and integrating the word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, database and slide show functions made easy through this program. Instructor Nigel Dolan’s online format will allow you to practice on your own computer as you create correspondence, newsletters, tables, posters, pictures, budgets and more."This course is a must for teachers, students, home-office and small business owners – all those whose crazy schedule and highly-specialized needs are served by an online course,"said Marcia Truman, PCC Community Education manager.Held entirely online via the Internet, the six-week class offers the flexibility to open lessons whenever your schedule allows and features discussion boards with the instructor and other students. The class will be offered twice this winter: Wednesday, April 21 through May 28, and again on Wednesday, May 19 through June 25. Cost is $69.
