TWO ITEMS: PCC offers relationship counsel for gay, lesbian couples

PORTLAND, Ore. – Whether you are experiencing a healthy relationship, or could use some expert advice, Portland Community College’s non-credit Gay and Lesbian Relationship Series can help strengthen your bond as a couple. Join experienced relationship counselor, Mariah Ureel, for a series of supportive and lively workshops that include humor, techniques and practical solutions this spring. This series of three classes will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on the following Saturdays: April 17, May 15, and June 12, at Zimmerman Community Center, 916 N.W. Lovejoy St. Cost is $20 per class. If you are looking for deeper intimacy, less strife and more fun, one or all of these workshops may be for you:? Anger Management for Couples (April 17). Learn how to skillfully handle this misunderstood emotion and keep your relationships sage and more authentic. Techniques for self-soothing and self-empowerment are key.? The "Priceless"Emotional Bank Account (May 15). According to John Gottman, relationship researcher and guru, there is no skill more important in determining the success of a couple. Learn dozens of fun, rejuvenating ways to know and love your partner.? From Unconscious to Conscious Loving (June 12). Take a look at the spiritual side of mature loving.
