Today’s Vision, Tomorrow’s Reality2004 Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work DayThursday, April 22, 2004This year’s theme for the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day Today’s Vision, Tomorrow’s Reality represents how our nation’s daughters and sons envision their future lives at work, home, and in the community. Giving a voice to their vision today will help make it a reality for girls and boys tomorrow. daughtersandsonstowork.org. We encourage you to bring your children to work to learn about the job opportunities available to them in the future. By opening doors to our workplaces and opening the eyes of our children to the innumerable choices that await them, this program stimulates learning, inquiry, and self-confidence. PCC has innumerable role models involved in wonderfully diverse areas; often non traditional. The Sylvania Women’s Resource Center has developed a strong program for your kids with support from the Campus President’s office. (See info below)You are invited to bring your 8-15 year old child to work on Thursday April 22, 2004 to experience some of the many careers represented in the PCC community. The program (pre-registration is required) is designed to introduce them to the world of work and to the wide array of skills needed in today’s workplace and in the future. A day at work will help your child discover the link between what they do now in school and what they can become in the future. They will have an opportunity to witness first-hand the essential public services that you and your co-workers provide each day.
