PORTLAND, Ore. – It’s often not the players who argue their cases that earn recognition – it’s the ones who broker the solution. Become a skilled mediator with Portland Community College and discover just how valuable employers will consider your qualifications. A non-credit professional seminar can earn you a certificate of completion and launch a skill you can use for a lifetime. Mediation Training: Professional Seminar will show you how to stand in the middle of even the most heated disputes and navigate the situation to a win-win solution. Students will learn from professional mediator Tsipora Dimant in a stimulating, interactive format. This is intense training; students will earn a certificate of completion recognized by most employers at the seminar’s conclusion. "Today more than ever, mediation skills are in hot demand,"said Dimant "After this seminar, your ability as a negotiator will position you to be the lynchpin in conflict resolution at the corporate, non-profit or even family level."The five-session seminar will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, and continue through that weekend from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 7, and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 8. The seminar continues the following weekend from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 14, concluding with a session from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 15.
