Paint your own silk scarf with PCC non-credit class

PORTLAND, Ore. – Let this spring’s wardrobe include a fashionable scarf you designed yourself. Portland Community College will show you how with a non-credit class.Silk Painting will lead students to create a beautiful silk scarf in a one-day workshop. Instructor Marie Caruso will teach you to master the basic silk painting tools – alcohol, salt and other resistance techniques – so you can continue to experiment with this art form even after class ends.The one-day class will meet from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 5, in Room 133 of Mt. Tabor Hall at PCC’s Southeast Center, 2305 S.E. 82nd Ave. Cost is $39, plus $17 for materials paid to instructor at class.
