Auto programs win state awards for excellence

ROCK CREEK CAMPUS – The automotive collision repair and diesel service technology programs at Portland Community College have each won Oregon’s Automotive Industry Planning Council’s Award of Excellence.diesel service technologyThe state winners will now be entered into the council’s national competition where a winner and two runners up will be selected. The national winners will receive their awards at the Association for Career and Technical Education Convention (ACTE) in Las Vegas this September."It is great that we won,"said Stuart Savin, division dean of the math and manufacturing division. "PCC has two fantastic programs that have now been recognized in the state. Our automotive collision repair and diesel programs have excellent staff and faculty who are dedicated to their students, the industry, the community and PCC.
