PCC needs volunteers for literacy campaign

CASCADE CAMPUS – The Volunteer Literacy Tutoring Program at Portland Community College, in conjunction with other local literacy organizations, is searching for a few good volunteer tutors. The program needs volunteers to help adult immigrants and refugees learn English and to assist both native and non-native English speakers in improving their basic literacy skills. Also, volunteers may prepare students for the GED or high school equivalency exam. Training for tutoring at PCC will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays, Oct. 23 and Oct. 30 at PCC’s Cascade Campus (705 N. Killingsworth Street).
