PORTLAND, Ore. – They say it’s the one thing people fear even more than death: public speaking. Now you can banish that fear and step in front of a group with confidence with a non-credit class offered by Portland Community College. Overcoming Public Speaking Fears, led by Seamus Kennedy, will give you the key techniques to gaining control over jitters when speaking to groups. The class will explore scientific knowledge for developing a calm performance and staying cool under tension. Walk away with a skill that will serve you for a lifetime. The one-day class will meet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, in Room 121 of the Health Technology Building at PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49 Ave. Cost is $19.
