Tour Oregon winter wonderland on cross-country skis

PORTLAND, Ore. – Glide through snowy evergreens in some of Oregon’s most beautiful mountain scenery this winter. Portland Community College will present an opportunity to experience cross-country skiing beginning this January. Designed especially for beginners, Cross Country Ski Lesson and Tour will offer the basics in cross-country ski techniques through a guided tour on Mount Hood. The non-credit class features popular instructor Ken Barker who has built the confidence of hundreds of students in the past and will help you develop a winter pastime you can enjoy for life. The one-day class and tour will be offered four times this term as follows: Saturday, Jan. 8; Sunday, Jan. 23; Sunday, Jan. 30; and Saturday, Feb. 12. The tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and students will meet at the Huckleberry Inn Building, 88611 E. Government Camp Loop. Cost is $47 for each class.
